About This Game 8-Bit Commando is a run and gun platformer with fast-paced action, a rocking soundtrack (from the chiptunes artist Ozzed), local multiplayer and explosions. The graphics will take you back to the classic age of gaming and the gameplay is bound to challenge even the most seasoned vets. 7aa9394dea Title: 8-Bit CommandoGenre: Action, IndieDeveloper:2denginePublisher:2dengineRelease Date: 27 Jul, 2011 8-Bit Commando Activation Code [PC] 8-bit commando download. 8-bit commando pc. 8 bit commando descargar. 8 bit commando pc download. 8-bit commando pc скачать. 8 bit commando steam. 8 bit commando pc rom. 8 bit commando. 8 bit commando gameplay. 8 bit commando descargar pc. 8 bit commando games. 8 bit commando free download I feel like one minute of this game is all I really needed to see what it had to offer, but Steam won't let me review the game with less than five minutes of time logged on it, so I have left the game idling in the background in order to post this.Firstly, there is a persistent bug where multi-monitor support causes the game not to display any graphics in fullscreen. Well, problem is, fullscreen is the default mode, so I had to go edit Settings.XML (which involved figuring out which of my AppData folders it was hidden in) to make the game run windowed. Going by the community forum, this bug has been known and documented since January of 2014. It is now July of 2015 and 2dengine have not bothered fixing it.As soon as I fixed the config file, I spent some time altering the controls. Keyboard is the default configuration, though XBox 360 pads are supported by default as well, even though the button layout isn't really very logical. Buttons can be rebound, which is good, BUT I wasn't able to bind movement controls to the D-pad, as it only recognizes analog axes. I use a DualShock 3 with a custom driver that mimics the 360 controller's, and I would have much preferred the D-pad over the stick.Getting into the actual game: the Commando moves really slowly, jumping is quite floaty; there are not very many enemies early on, making me wonder if the devs had forgotten to populate the level. When enemies DO show up, they're damage sponges. Contra soldiers tend to go down in one shot. These guys take two or three. Hit boxes are not very forgiving either; I found I was missing many shots because of how slow the bullets travel, and I eventually started just running past enemies because neither of us were going to hit each other. Then I got to a point in the first level where there is a fighter jet dropping bombs everywhere. Despite being a big target, it's not easy to shoot because, again, bullets move way too slow. The bombs are hard to dodge, and do a lot of damage to you, resulting in frequent death. Even if you survive the bombs, there is a pair of missile turrets that fire homing missiles at you that do the same damage. To make matters far worse, even though you have infinite continues, you will always revert to a checkpoint when you die. The sluggish nature of the game makes this far more of a pain than it really needs to be.Aesthetically, I don't mind the artwork (it's a bit more "authentic" than a lot of retro-mimic games), but the music and sounds are ill-fitting and unsatisfying, and dare I say, really boring.I just don't feel like this is worth paying money for. I got it out of a Groupees bundle; I sort of regret redeeming the Steam key out of it, now.. It's ok. Not worth a negative rating. Plus it's very cheap and often bundled. You get at least what you pay for, if not a bit more.. Don't let your computer's bits touch this game's 8-bits.This game aims to bring back the best of 1980's but, instead, it just brought us back a bad dose of AIDS.As many have noted, this was an attempt at a Contra clone, but 8-bit Commando could better be described as a computerized AIDS simulator.Utterly cuntageous. Should be renamed "Cuntra".. Controller worked fine, no bugs, smooth gameplay...not horrible for 3 bucks, but it couldn't keep my interest. Its good for what it is, just lacked action and immersion, it felt kind of like a flash game.. I bought this because I wanted to play another Contra, and Konamy isn't exaclty interested in making another one. i didn't have any expectations, I just wanted a minimally solid run and gun platfomer to pass the time. So, how does this little game holds up? Well, pretty badly. This title has so many things going wrong it's hard to start. Well, let's go with the music. The music is done by some artist that may be famous, he may be good in his art and all, but the sound track doesn't mix well with the action. I makes the game boring. Remember Contra first stage, how warlike was that music? It was heart poundig, well done, made for an action game. It FELT good. In this game, the music makes you want to go to a moderate walk, instead of running, jumping and shotting aliens in the face. Then there are the levels. They are relatively long, with a lot of platforms, barrels, boxes and other stuff with no purpose whatsoever. Enemies are bland and not numerous. Some stages felt even a bit devoid of life (and action). Also, enemies have this tendency of shotting fast and outside the screen. It makes dodging bullets hard, but you don't die in the first shot here, you have a life bar (this game is not really hard compared to Contra either). Sometimes you only realise there is an enemy there after getting shot. To make things worse, your character is relativelly slow, not even close to the ninjas that were Bill and Lance. Yeah, in Metal Slug you control slow characters that can't even shoot in diagonals, but in that game enemies shoot (generally) slow and have predictable behaviour. You also die with a single shot too, differently from 8-Bit Commando. I also had some problems with a player 2 always spawning around and despawning in my playthrougs. Have no ideia if it is intended that way or not and I don't know how to fix it (and I don't care anymore). Then, there are the bosses. The ideas are not bad. Helicopters and other military stuff attack you with predictable patterns in straight forward routines. I liked them a bit. Sadly, they are not very engaging, but I think they are the best part of this game. Anyway, I didn't finish this and I never will... If you can get it for LESS than a Dollar (pra mim não vale mais que 1 real!) and you are REALLY craving for something that barely resembles Contra, that's ok. But keep in mind you may be still wasting you money even so.... It's small.
